This is our guide about the equipment, you need or you should have to produce content on YouTube
First of all, you don't need expensive equipment to start with YouTube. For first, you can also start off with a laptop to edit your videos or record gaming videos or with your smartphone camera to record your videos. As long, as your videos are at least in 720p and constantly have 30 FPS, everything is fine. Later on, you can also increase the quality of your videos by buying more expensive equipment, that has a better quality.
If you want to record videos everywhere, laptops are exactly the right thing for you. You can either use them to record gameplays, to capture your screen or to simply edit your recordings to produce "Vlogs" or other "Real Life Videos".
This laptop actually has quite a good quality for its price, but you won't be able to create the best videos, but if you want to start with YouTube, this laptop is just fine. But you definitively won't be able to record games in 1080p and 60 FPS. If you want to record games with this laptop, you can only record games with low graphics on 720p and 30 FPS. In addition, you can also use it to edit some low quality recordings, it's definitively enough to start with!
This latop has definitvely a better quality, than the first one. The Intel Quad Core i5-6300HQ provides you a lot of power and in addition the latptop also has a gaming graphics card, the Nvidia GTX 960M. All that provides you good power, which should easily enable you to record gameplay of games with some higher quality in at least 1080p and 30 FPS, if you play on some lower graphics, you should even be able to record in 720p and 60 FPS. So in conclusion, this is already an advanced gaming laptop, with which you can record gameplay in high quality. You can also easily edit videos with it, just because of the processor and the graphics card.
Game Capture Cards
If you want to record something, that isn't on your computer, so if you want to record something from a console like a Playstation or X-Box or a portable gaming platform - like a smartphone or a Nintendo, you need to get a game capture card. You connect this game capture card to your computer and to the device, you want to record something from, then it displays on your computer and you can record with the software, which is mainly delivered with the game capture card. The good about these cards is, that they don't use any power of your device, so you can also use them to record something from a computer, the device, you want to record from just needs to have a HDMI-Input.
This is a game capture card from elgato, that can record in 1080p and 60 FPS. You can connect it to any device, that has an HDMI-Input, you want. You can use it to record either something on your mobile phone, you need to have a HDMI-adapter, that you can find below, or something on your X-Box or Playstation. It doesn't steal you any FPS, so you can record videos in a high quality, even if your computer or laptop isn't the best. They also provide you a software to record.
This Elgato Game Capture can be built into your computer, so you have an output in your computer (doesn't work with laptops). It has exactly the same features like the portable Elgato Game Capture, but it gives you the ability to directly connect your devices to your computer.
If you want to record something from your smartphone or tablet using the Elgato Game Capture, you will hardly find any mobile devices, that have an HDMI-Input or -Output, so you need an adapter, this Micro-USB-Adapter is compatible with almost all Android Devices and enables you to connect your mobile Android-Devices to your Elgato Game Captured, so you can also record mobile games.
This is almost exactly the same adapter, that we have shown you before, so it also enables you to record your mobile devices, but it's for iOS, thus it allows you to record games from your IPhone or IPad. As I said, it has the same features, so you can also use it to connect your device to your Elgato Game Capture.
Smartphones and cameras
If you want to record real life videos to upload on your youtube channel, you neither have to get a camera or a smartphone. Some smartphones offer already offer you cameras with an awesome quality, but they can't beat every camera out there. So in this part, I'll show you good smartphones and good cameras to record your videos with or to use your smartphone to record some mobile games using the Elgato Game Capture, that I've shown you before.
The LG4 is a smartphone, that offers you a good hardware and also good camera for its price. You can also record your videos with it and you can easily record mobile games in 60 FPS using an Elgato Game Capture. Overall, it is a powerfull phone, which you can easily use to record your videos.
If you want to go some more advanced, this starter package is exactly the right for you. It offers you a good camera, multiple objectives, a tripod and more. It actually includes everything, that you need to produce and high quality content and maybe even short films for YouTube. But of course, this is some more expensive, so you should only buy this, if you really want to use this to produce your high quality content.
Here, you can also find all cameras, that are best selling and cost less than 250$ - so they have a good quality on amazon.
Video Editing Software
To edit the footage, that you have created, you need to get a video editing software, there is a lot of free software out there, but if you want to produce some higher quality content, you will also have to pay for it. Here are some paid, but also free video editing softwares, that I like:
Sony Movie Studio Platinum Suite 12 is a paid video editing software, that isn't the cheapest, but it provides you a really good quality. It includes the possibility to edit with special effects, brings you an audio editing software called "Audio Studio 10", it provides you a lot of tutorials and you can immediately share everything to YouTube. It can even be used to create 3D-Content.
A cheaper video editing software is "MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 2015", it is a video editing software for beginners, but you can also use it to create professional content. It can render in up to 4K and it also has a mobile application, which you can use to easily exchange your projects from your mobile to your Desktop PC or the other way around.
Adobe Premiere Elements 14 is some more expensive again, but there are also many professionals, who use it. It also includes many effects or cooler titles. It supports all video formats and it also allows you to share everything directly to YouTube. It is available for Macintosh and Windows, in addition almost every PC can run it, that has at least 2 GB of RAM and a processor with at least 2GHz.
I am using HitFilm 4 Express at my own and I can recommend it to anyone. It basically includes Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects - and it's free. So it has a paid and a free version, the paid version offers you some extra things. Even the free version offers you a large variety of tools and effects, thus it is a really strong video editing software, that anyone can use. HitFilm also has some video tutorials on YouTube, you can render in all resolutions and whatever amount of FPS, you wish, you can also directly upload your content to YouTube.
